It was stated in the Call for Proposals announced on September 26th 2007 that in case of unused resources there will be two
more deadlines for proposals’ submission within the Activity 2 Workshops and Seminars.
The Board of the Fund decided that the first new deadline for submission of applications is October 31st, 2008.
In case of unused resources the second term of submission will be decided by the Board of the Fund.

within Activity 2: Workshops and Seminars
under the framework of Polish-Norwegian Research Fund
can be submitted
from July 31st 2008, to October 31st 2008 until 3 p.m.
Polish-Norwegian Research Fund was established within the allocation of the Priority No. 6 Academic Research of the Operational Programme – the EEA/Norwegian Financial Mechanisms.
The objective of the Fund is to establish and strengthen cooperation between Polish and Norwegian researchers thus organised
by beneficiaries workshops and seminars have to facilitate bilateral scientific co-operation and projects have to be realised
in partnership with Norwegian universities or research organisations/institutions. Proposals can be submitted within all priority
areas of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and it is allowed to apply within more than one area. Deadline for realisation of a project
is December 31st 2010. Detailed information on the Fund, including priority areas is available at the
website www.fbn.opi.org.pl.
The total amount available for Call for Proposals is EUR 1 291 410. Beneficiaries may receive grant assistance up to EUR 20 000 for the realisation of a project. The admissible participation of Norwegian partners in the eligible costs of a project cannot exceed 50%. Please be informed that the project cannot be a part of an event which is financed from other sources in greater majority and which will take place regardless of the Fund’s grant.

Excerpt from the appraisal procedure:
The appraisal of the submitted applications consists of three stages:
Stage I – Formal appraisal will be carried out by the Joint Fund Secretariat.
An application that fails to meet formal criteria set out in the Call for Proposals announcement will be returned to the applicant
along with a reasoned opinion on the rejection of the application. The original version of the rejected application will remain in the
Fund Operator’ office. Any applicant may appeal against the decision of refusal of its application with regard to the compliance
with formal requirements within 14 days of the notification of results to the applicant by the Joint Fund Secretariat.
Stage II – The content-related and technical appraisal will be carried out by the Joint Fund Secretariat.
Stage III – Decisions on co-financing of projects are made by the Board of the Fund.
The Board’s decisions will be supported by (respectively) appraisal of the referees. An applicant can appeal against neither the
decisions of a content-related character nor the decisions of the Board of the Fund.
Questions may be sent by e-mail or by fax no later than 7 days before the relevant deadline for the receipt of proposals to the address listed below, indicating a clear reference to the Call for Proposals. Questions will be replied within 7 days. Questions that may be relevant to other Applicants together with the answers will be published at the website www.fbn.opi.org.pl.
